Networking With the Employee Relocation Council in Texas
from:As reported by researchers with the Employee Relocation Council , Texas cities are among the most suitable for relocation in the United States. Housing prices tend to be rather low and often wages are comparatively high. This is especially true in technical, managerial and executive positions. Thankfully, those are the very positions that people most often relocate to follow or land a job.
Since the relocation market in Texas has been booming for decades, there are quite a few relocation professionals who are certified members of Worldwide ERC (formerly known as the Employee Relocation Council) in Texas – several hundred, in fact.
The Texas Relocation Network is one such trade organization that serves as a distributor and storehouse of knowledge as well as a body that facilitates face to face meetings with some of the sharpest minds in the business. If you are a relocation professional in the Texas area , there is likely some sort of organization that is roughly modeled upon the principles of the former Employee Relocation Council.
Texas, like other Western states, has a low population density and very long stretches of agricultural land. As such, some cities function rather independently and there may be a city-wide chapter of a trade organization for relocation specialists. Unlike the national Employee Relocation Council, Texas' many small councils invite professionals from related industries to their regular meetings, and these are wonderful places to do some networking with people in related businesses that can send you work or would like you to send them some.
No matter what your involvement is in relocating employees, whether in a large city or one of the hundreds of small hamlets in this massive state, there is sure to be some trepidation on the part of the employee who is moving. By learning all you can from the other professionals at monthly meetings.
However, just like the national Employee Relocation Center, Texas' centers are a good place to look at the trend data that has been collected from local records and member surveys. This information is usually available in a newsletter of some sort, whether electronic or printed. These groups are generally non-profit, and accept sponsorship or donations, such as the fees collected.
Whether moving in or out of Texas, a relocation specialist is the most likely person the to be able to navigate all the necessary ropes to make employee relocation something to look forward to rather than something to dread. As more and more businesses relocate to this relatively mild climate, the number of agents who assist individuals and businesses make employee relocations will, too.
